The Bureau of Labor Statistics provides salary data for homeland security professionals who are located in Vermont. The average 2012 salary for selected occupations is provided below followed by the salaries of experienced professionals who earn in the top 10th of their field.
Transportation security screeners in Burlington earned about average for the state with the average wage being $33,920.
In contrast, protective service workers in the southern nonmetropolitan state earned more than those in Burlington. The average salary for these supervisors was $56,040 as compared to $44,350 in Burlington. According to the Human Resources Department of Vermont, the 2013 base salary of such supervisors can range up to $115,731 a year.
